Pittsburgh Tattoo Works III

When/Where: The exhibition will run from today, June 7 through Thursday, July 18. The opening reception will be held on from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Sweetwater Center for the Arts.

Why Go: This is the third installment of Pittsburgh Tattoo Works, an exhibition that will feature new and innovative artwork from local tattoo artists. Included are sculpture, oil paintings, sketches, drawings and more. This exhibition is juried by Timothy Azinger of Pinnacle Tattoo/MOM Productions. 

Admission: Free, courtesy of the following sponsors: Aliquippa Beer Distributor, Littell Steel Company/ Thaw Family, Lula, Sidelines Beer House and Sweetwater’s Board of Directors.

Fern Hollow's 2nd Amazing Parks Race

When/Where: 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 8 at Fern Hollow Nature Center. 

Why Go: The second annual event showcases eight parks in the community and provides families a day of family fun outside.

Admission: $30 per team for FHNC members and $40 per team for non-members.


Summer Music Series

When/Where: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Wolcott Park gazebo.

Why Go: Mal Scoppa and the Tall Tales will perform a blend of original folk, bluegrass, and rock. Sponsored by Sweetwater Center for the Arts, the music series presents live entertainment every Friday night in June. Bring a chair or blanket. In case of rain, concert will be held at Sweetwater.

Admission: Free.

St. James Farmer's Market

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 8 in the parking lot at St. James Church.

Why Go: Enjoy fresh produce, flowers, herbs. Plus, don't miss the Sewickley Public Library from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The library be down there on Saturday and on Saturday, June 15 signing up all ages for summer reading. Stop by, say hello and pick up a yummy library fortune cookie. 

Downton Abbey Catch-UP

When/Where: 2 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, June 7 at the Sewickley Public Library.

Why Go: Find out what all the rage is about. The library is hosting a Downton Abbey Catch-UP. Continuing a journey into the world of Downton Abbey, the library this month will watch the second season. Today is Season 2, Episode 2

Admission: Free. Adult program.
