I have three children in the lower school at Sewickley Academy and could not be happier. It was a big decision for our family financially and has turned out to be the best investment we could make. Our children love school, love to learn, and are happy, confident kids! As a parent, I could not ask for more.

Sewickley Academy is overrated. The teachers are less proficient than those in the public schools. Administration is inflexible. Parents need to go along with anything the teachers and administrators decide unless they are big donors to the school in which case their children will receive special privileges.

Sewickley is a great school. Being such a small school, the teachers are able to give great attention to the students, and the community is friendly and tightly-knit. We've been to lots of schools, and this is by far the best. I have one child in the Middle School and one in the Senior School who both love the school as well. There are tons of extra-curricular activities and artistic outlets to keep students invested and interested even outside of school. The academics are great, and combined with the excellent college guidance program, Sewickley makes for the best possible college preparation in Pittsburgh.

We moved to the area 18 months ago from the Northeast and enrolled our three children in Sewickley Academy (age ranged from 9-15). They are all thriving and we are thrilled with the education they are receiving. The teachers are fabulous, and seem to know our kids so well; the academics are challenging and the extra-curricular activities are quite extensive and accessible to all! SO many more opportunities than in the large public school they attended previously and we have seen their confidence, maturity and interests all blossom.

We have been at Sewickley Academy for 5 years and I can honestly say that it gets better every year. The teachers are fantastic. They know each child’s strengths and weaknesses and somehow pull out that inner confident child who we know lies within. Sewickley Academy provides a balanced and well-rounded education where my kids can excel academically and socially. I have seen tremendous changes in my kids. I am thankful to be part of such a wonderful community.
