Sewickley En Pointe is a locally owned and operated dance studio that provides ballet instruction to children of all ages and skill levels. It is devoted to teaching technique and mechanics more than recital preparation, although shows are put on for parents at the end of the session. Classes are limited to six students to allow for better individualized instruction. The studio is fully equipped with hardwood floors, barres, a sound system and mirrors. M.E.L.T. fitness programs are also available for adults. In an effort to provide instruction for all, Sewickley En Pointe offers special payment options in certain cases.

I am a 43 year old women and mother of an 8 year old. I was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer in January of this year. After a masectomy, I developed lymphodema in my right arm. It was swollen and very uncomfortable to move. Reaching into a the refridgerator or over my head was painful. After a few sessions of MELT, the swelling in my arm decreased significantly and my range of motion not only improved but became painless, way a head of schedule. As you can imagine, I was under a lot of stress. My shoulders ached and I was starting to hunch over. My neck was tight and I was having a lot of headaches. Implementing the foot part of MELT released the tension in my shoulders and neck and I am happy to say I have been headache free. Tonya is an excellent teacher. She is very patient and makes every effort to give each person the attention they need to do each move correctly for the maximum benefit. I would encourage anyone who has a health issue like me or is looking for a fun new way to work out and relieve stress in a low impact way, to give it a try. You won't be sorry!
