The Watson Institute offers summer camp and respite programs as well as child assessment and therapy services for children and adolescents with autism. The institute also provides educational programs with a partial hospital component for youth with severe emotional disturbances. Watson is most known for being the selected site for Dr. Jonas Salk to conduct his first clinical trials of the polio vaccine.
