Voters in the Nov. 8 general election will choose from candidates vying for one seat on the bench of Commonwealth Court and another on Superior Court.
Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court
The Republican candidate is:
- Anne E. Covey, an attorney and the first female member of the Pennsylvania Labor Relations Board, of New Hope, Bucks County. She defeated Paul P. Panepinto, a Philadelphia Common Pleas Court judge and former attorney, in the May primary election.
The Democratic candidate is:
- Kathryn Boockvar, an attorney and arbitrator, of Doylestown, Bucks County. She defeated Barbara Behrend Ernsberger, a Shadyside attorney and commissioner with the Pittsburgh Planning Department, after a primary election so close that it generated an automatic recount.
Pennsylvania Superior Court
The Republican candidate is:
- Victor P. Stabile, an attorney and former litigator in the state Attorney General's office, of Carlisle, Cumberland County. He defeated Paula A. Patrick, a Philadelphia Common Pleas Court judge and former attorney, in the May primary election.
The Democratic candidate is:
- David N. Wecht, a Common Pleas Court judge, a law professor and former Allegheny County Register of Wills and Orphan's Court Clerk, of Squirrel Hill.
