A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for Southwestern Pennsylvania, including Allegheny, Beaver and Butler counties. The watch remains in effect through 10 p.m. Wednesday night, according to the National Weather Service, which says some storms cound be severe with damaging winds. The chance of showers and thunderstorms is expected mainly after 5 p.m. and before midnight. A hazardous weather outlook is also in effect this week, with frosty and potentially freezing conditions possible on Friday and Saturday nights and possibly Sunday. Here's a look at the forecast:

Quinn Boyle was chosen as this year's winner of the Memorial Day Parade Committee's annual contest.
Quinn Boyle was excited to learn she was chosen as this year's winner of the annual Gettysburg Address contest. The 14-year-old Sewickley resident went before members of the Memorial Day Parade Committee earlier this month to recite the entire 270-word Gettysburg Address. As she delivered the words from memory, Quinn said the four committee members, all veterans, nodded their heads with approval. "I could tell they knew it from front to back and they were shaking their heads when I got it right," she said. The eighth-grader practiced for about three weeks. Two newcomers and an incumbent won nominations for Quaker Valley School Board in Tuesday's primary election, while two others will vie for one seat in the general election. Quaker Valley alumni Daniela Sauro Helkowski and Jonathan Kuzma won both the Democratic and Republican nominations in Region 1 for Quaker Valley School Director. The two are endorsed by the Concerned Taxpayers of Quaker Valley, a group opposed to the district purchasing homes near the high school for construction purposes. Incumbent Sarah Heres, who ran unopposed, also won nominations from both parties in Region 2. The West Hills DUI Task Force will be conducting enforcement operations over Memorial Day weekend. These operations will be in the form of sobriety checkpoints and/or roving DUI patrols between May 24 and 26.
