Sewickley residents and business owners have speculated about plans for the former Quizno's restaurant.
A major fast-food restaurant is slated to open in March at the former Quizno's space in Sewickley. The borough code enforcement office and the Subway website both confirm plans for a new Subway restaurant opening soon at 537 Beaver St. between the Verizon store and Craig Allen Salon. A building permit was issued last month for interior renovations at the property owned by Clifford Krey, who could not be reached for comment. Subway, a franchise chain, has more than 38,800 restaurants worldwide and is known for its "eat fresh" motto, Fresh Fit menu and $5 footlongs. Other nearby Subway locations include the Quaker Village Plaza store in Leetsdale and on University Boulevard in Moon Township. Are you excited about Subway coming to …

The brainchild of Robinson native and Montour grad Brent Brown, the 65,000-square-foot complex debuts its strobe-lit bowling alleys, restaurants, sports bars, dance floor and arcade at a VIP preview Friday.
As it readied for its public opening Tuesday night, Latitude 40 threw a preview party Friday night, drawing guests from the Tri-State region and debuting its strobe-lit bowling alleys, open-concept restaurants, sports bars, arcade and live-performance space. Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Charlie Batch, former Steelers running back and television analyst Jerome Bettis, gaming and business executive Ted Arneault and about 500 others jammed the 65,000-square-foot entertainment venue in Robinson Pointe. Once inside the neon-bathed entrance of the three-story complex, guests danced to '70s and '80s covers by Totally 80s, sampled signature cocktails and noshed on rare filet and spicy shrimp, grilled vegetables, pastas and oven-fired pizzas, …

Sewickley police said the 40-year-old woman is facing several counts, including theft and receiving stolen property.
An Aliquippa woman is facing numerous charges accused of scamming cash from several Sewickley businesses. Sewickley police have charged Sharon Lepore, 40, with three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, two counts of criminal attempt and one count of conspiracy. Police said Lepore admitted to scamming businesses first to support a drug habit, but then as a way to get fast money. Police said Lepore's mode of operation was to take an item off a store shelf, pretend she overpaid for it and demand a refund, all without producing a receipt. Janet Daugherty, owner of Tapas, reported to police that Lepore came into her business twice, once on July 21 when she claimed her husband had purchased two bottles of linen wash but was …

The US Airways you speak of ceased to exist, when America West purchased the old US Airways during the latter's second bankruptcy. Truth be told PIT had the 1st or 2nd highest fees per passenger in the country, and US Airways was sinking after 9/11. US Airways told the Allegheny County Airport Authority that they needed relief, or they'd need to shift traffic to CLT and PHL (US Airways was …   more ›
