Political leaders are encouraging Allegheny County residents who disagree with their new assessments to file a formal appeal by April 2. At a town hall meeting on new assessments Thursday night in Bethel Park, residents were told they can always cancel the appeal if they change their minds before their scheduled hearing, but they won't be able to file an appeal after the deadline. "If you don't appeal anything you're going to be stuck with what you have,"Allegheny County Councilman John DeFazio said.
