Free Coffee for National Coffee Day Today

As you hunt down your free cup o’ joe, here are five things every bean aficionado should know. 1. Is “I need a cup of coffee to start my day” part of your daily vocabulary? You’re not alone. Take Part in 'Open Mic' Tonight

The Crazy Mocha jam sessions shine a light on musicians, singers and performers.

The first Open Mic Night at Crazy Mocha in Sewickley drew a small crowd in February. The next month, Sewickley Patch attended, and so did an even bigger crowd. Matt Schlosser, who organizes Open Mic Night, eventually moved the events to Saturdays. Tonight's Open Mic is from 6 to 8 p.m. Schlosser spoke with Patch in March about his idea to bring singers, musicians, songwriters and music lovers together. Here is a look back at what he had to say. The next Open Mic Night is Oct. 1. For more information visit Facebook or contact Matt Schlosser at sewickleyopenmic@gmail.com

LoyalTree App Creates Deals, Supports Business

A new app for iPhone and Android gives deals to area businesses, including Crazy Mocha and Square Cafe in Regent Square.

Brock Bergman is helping customers across the Pittsburgh area lighten their key chains with a new smart phone app that holds discounts and rewards from local businesses in one centralized place. “Anytime anyone would offer me to enroll in their programs, I would just say, 'No, I am fine.' I just want to get in, get my purchases and get out,” Bergman said. “What really started as a way for people to aggregate their current loyalty programs and put them on their phone has evolved into what we consider to be called a loyalty network.” A business based in the Strip District, LoyalTree is a new concept that already has Square Cafe in Regent Square, Crazy Mocha coffee shops, NOLA on the Square restaurant in Market Square, North Park Lounge and …
