Sewickley police cited a tree company after its GMC truck was spotted hauling a large load of unsecured logs in the borough, police reported. Police said the driver, Joseph Bianco, 28, of Pittsburgh, was hauling logs at least 6-feet long on the truck Friday when police stopped the vehicle at Beaver and Logan streets in Sewickley. Police said Bianco, a driver for Down and Out Tree & Stump Service, based in Pittsburgh, thought another worker had secured the load, but police said the logs were not tied down. Police cited the company for having an unsecured load and placed the truck out of service until the logs could be secured using a minimum of three chains, police said. A Beaver Falls man is facing charges after police said he stole a trumpet then showed up drunk at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Richard W. Heffner, 32, of Beaver Falls, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Sewickley Police were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 to St. James School, 201 Broad St., for a report of two men, possibly intoxicated, in the school parking lot, police reported. When police arrived, a janitor at the school told officers that two men came into a side door at the school and knocked on the door, police said.
