District Magistrate: Driving Under the Influence Case Held for Court

The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings April 23 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale: Held for Court Chuck Nacke, 55, of Franklin Park, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. Franklin Park police reported officers received a report Feb. 5 that Nacke was trying to leave a bar on Brandt School Road and drive home while intoxicated. Police said officers found Nacke at home slouched over the driver's seat of his vehicle, which was parked in his garage. The vehicle was off, but was still mking a ticking sound from being driven. Police reported a blood-alcohol content of 0.239 percent. Waived Keith Stewart, 66, of Franklin Park, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol. …

Man Waives Charges, Accused of Pawning Stolen $5,000 Bracelet and Necklace with a Cross

Police said the man received $557.50 for the stolen items.

A Pittsburgh man recently waived two charges of receiving stolen property accused of pawning a stolen $5,000 tennis bracelet and $100 necklace. Franklin Park police said Bartley B. Bailey, 56, of Perrysville Avenue, Pittsburgh, accepted the two pieces of stolen jewelry from friend Jeffrey Masartis.   Masartis admitted to police Dec. 14 that he took the items from a Franklin Park home on Lindenwood Drive where he was working as a painter, police said.  Police said Bailey pawned the $5,000 diamond tennis bracelet at Coin Exchange in Pittsburgh and received $500. He also pawned a $100 10-carat necklace with a cross for $57.50.  The following were also charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings April 16 in Leetsdale District Court: Waived …

Nearby: Franklin Park Police Ask for Help Locating Missing Man

Aaron Kane, 24, failed to appear for a Leetsdale District Court hearing last week. He has not been seen since Feb. 28.

Franklin Park Police are asking for help in finding Aaron Kane, 24, who has not been since in more than two weeks. Kane is 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighs between 130 and 140 lbs and has brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen walking in the 3000 block of Perrysville Avenue near Pittsburgh's North Side on Feb 28. At the time, he was wearing a black hooded Carhartt-type jacket. Family members reported his disapperance to police on March 9. Kane also recently failed to appear for court in Leetsdale on March 12 after being charged by Franklin Park police with possession of drug paraphernalia. Police said Kane overdosed on heroin on Dec. 27 and was found with a syringe. He was treated at UPMC Passavant hospital.  Anyone with information should…

Couple Faces Charges in Steelers Ticket Scam

Emily Randall and Joshua Gonzalez are also accused of stealing a debit card.

A Franklin Park woman is accused of stealing a debit card with the help of her boyfriend, purchasing nearly $5,000 in Pittsburgh Steelers tickets online and selling fakes through Craigslist.  Emily Randall, 18, of Franklin Park, recently appered in Leetsdale District Court and waived her right to a preliminary hearing on charges of theft, receiving stolen property, access device fraud, identity theft and criminal conspiracy. Police said they also have filed charges against Randall's boyfriend, Joshua Gonzalez, 24, but they have not located him. Police reported Randall and Gonzalez had been invited Sept. 29 to a Lindenwood residence by someone visiting there. when they took a debit card from the homeowner’s purse. Police said the card was …

Hearing Postponed Again for Franklin Park Couple Accused of Abusing Adopted Children

Douglas and Kristen Barbour, through their attorney, have repeatedly denied the charges filed by Allegheny County Police.

The preliminary hearing for a Franklin Park couple accused of physically abusing and starving two children they adopted from Ethiopia in March has been postponed again. Douglas Barbour, 33, and his wife, Kristen Barbour, 30, of Cole Road, Wexford, are charged with two counts each of endangering the welfare of children and one count each of aggravated assault.  Douglas Barbour, a Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General, is also charged with simple assault, court documents show.   Barbour has been suspended from his state job without pay, Attorney General Linda Kelly said in a statement after the couple's arrest Oct. 4. I agree with all the feelings stated above, but Gail is right. Until we know more about the whole case can we begin to understand the trauma, guilt and punishment that is appropriate. Deputy Attorney General, Wife Arraigned in Franklin Park Child Abuse Case

Douglas and Kristen Barbour face a preliminary hearing Tuesday. Police have charged them with assaulting two Ethiopian-born chlldren they adopted in March.

UPDATE: A Pennsylvania Deputy Attorney General and his wife have been arraigned on charges that they assaulted and abused two adopted children in their care. Douglas Barbour, 33, and his wife, Kristen Barbour, 30, of Cole Road, Franklin Park, posted 10 percent of $25,000 percentage bonds after their arraignments Friday morning. Barbour has been suspended from his state job without pay, Attorney General Linda Kelly said in a statement. Ross Township Man Accused of Molesting 7-Year-Old

A preliminary hearing is scheduled next week before District Judge Robert Ford.

A Ross Township man faces a preliminary hearing next week in Leetsdale District Court on charges he molested his ex-girlfriend’s then 7-year-old daughter. Brian Horlick, 46, of Boscom Avenue, faces one count of aggravated assault, two counts each of indecent assault and two counts of endangering the welfare of children. Franklin Park police reported that the first incident against the girl, now 14, occurred about seven years ago when she was 7. Police said the girl was with her mother and Horlick, visiting her great-grandmother in Franklin Park, and had spent the night sleeping between the two adults on the floor. The following people were charged and scheduled for preliminary hearings Jan. 10 at District Judge Robert Ford's office in Leetsdale: Warrant issued Alexander P. Lewis, 35, of Harrisburg, charged with open lewdness, public drunkenness and possession of a small amount of marijuana. Sewickley police said an officer saw Lewis at 1:50 a.m. Nov. 24 leaving Little Athens in the 500 block of Locust Place and urinating on the sidewalk with his genitals exposed. Police said they found a small amount of marijuana in his front pocket when they arrested him. Lewis failed to appear for court.
