Gas Prices Falling, Just Not as Fast in Sewickley

Experts explain why prices in Ohio are up to 50 cents a gallon cheaper than Western Pennsylvania. See which Sewickley area stations are lowest.

If you live in Cleveland, there's a good chance you could fill up your tank for about $3 a gallon, and that's more than 40 cents a gallon cheaper than in the Sewickley area, according to the AAA. Drivers in five states (Wyo., Utah, Colo., Okla. and Minn.) currently pay less than $3 per gallon at the pump, while only drivers in Hawaii pay more than $4 per gallon, the AAA said. Jeff Lenard, spokesman for the National Association of Convenience Stores, told the Post Gazette that said prices vary for several reasons. One is a different state gas tax rate, which favor Ohio at $46.4 cents a gallon, or 4.3 cents below Pennsylvania's 50.7 cents. The Cheapest Gas Prices Around

Gasoline prices are up this week, but Sewickley Patch has compiled a list of the cheapest prices, and best perks in the Sewickley area.

While snowy conditions are keeping some drivers off the road gasoline prices have still gone up. For Western Pennsylvania in particular, gas prices increased three cents this week, according to AAA's Fuel Gauge, which reports the average price for a gallon of self-serve, regular unleaded gasoline currently at $3.171 at the pump. Sewickley Patch wants to help. We’ve consulted with motortrend.com and did some research of our own to provide you with the cheapest gas prices in the area. Motortrend designated BP gas station on Route 65 in Edgeworth as having the cheapest gas around. Prices range from $3.129 a gallon for regular unleaded to $3.429 for premium, the lowest prices we could find. This becomes even more of a deal when you consider …
