Sewickley Police Charge Driver in Hit and Run

Police said the 72-year-old driver left the scene of an accident.

A 72-year-old Pittsburgh woman has been cited with leaving the scene of an accident after police said she hit another car in the parking garage at Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital and failed to report the accident. Police said a witness watched Aug. 22 as Marilyn Simon parked next to a car belonging to Monique Genzler of Ambridge and caused damage to the entire side of Genzler’s vehicle. Police said a witness also took down Simon’s license plate. Genzler told police she wanted to press charges. Police said contacted Simon was contacted and agreed to come to the police station. Sewickley Resident Hopes to Put the Brakes on Speeding

Paul Farkas, who was struck by a hit-and-run driver in December, believes that speeding in his neighborhood has worsened.

A Sewickley resident who two months ago was struck by a car in his neighborhood is asking the borough to crack down on speeding. “If I can obey the law, so can these other people,” said Paul Farkas of Bank Street. “People that don’t obey the law, that are driving Escalades and Land Rovers, they can certainly afford to pay the citation. We just need the police down there to catch them.” Farkas brought his complaints to Sewickley Council Tuesday night, saying that he believes the aggressive driving through Bank and Grant streets and Linden Place has worsened. Farkas was injured Dec. 9 when the mirror of a passing sport utility vehicle struck his wrist and knocked him to the ground. The vehicle never stopped. Farkas credited Sewickley Police …

Vehicle violations Police stopped a car at 1:25 a.m. Jan. 24 that was riding on a nearly flat tire with burned out license and brake lights. The driver, Jordan Lawson, 21, of Aliquippa, was found to be under suspension and cited for that violation and for driving with an expired inspection and emissions sticker. Police said a passenger, Brandon Wallace, 26, of Ambridge had a warrant out of Beaver County. He was turned over to the Beaver County sheriff’s office. Driver Contacts Police after Saturday's Hit-and-Run Incident

Moon Police say a man has reported to them that he thought he had struck a deer Saturday night on Moon Clinton Road.

Moon Police said they now have a lead in Saturday's hit-and-run incident that left a 17-year-old girl severely injured on Moon Clinton Road. Police today said Clifford Dilley, 75, of Moon Township, reported to the township police department at about 6:30 p.m. Sunday and said he thought he had struck a deer the night before on Moon Clinton Road. Officers immediately went to Dilley's home to investigate and examine his vehicle, which is a full-size Chevrolet pickup truck. The truck's damage, police say, is consistent with this hit-and-run case. The police report states that Dilley has been cooperative throughout this investigation and agreed to submit blood samples at Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital for testing.
