A Leetsdale man accused of hitting a woman in the face waived the charges to Allegheny County Court. David Eiler, 30, of Broad Street, recently appeared in Leetsdale District Court on charges of simple assault, harassment and recklessly endangering another person. According to Leetsdale police, Eiler argued with a woman on Nov. 26 before striking her in the face. Police said the woman was bleeding from her face and hand, and was transported by Valley Ambulance to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital. Officers checked the home for Eiler, but he fled, police said. A Sewickley Hills man accused of stealing from his neighbor’s home and his landlord’s house waived the charges to court. David Lewandowski, 33, of Hilltop Lane, was in Leetsdale District Court last week to face three counts of burglary and criminal trespass, and two counts of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. Sewickley Heights and Ohio Township police charged him in connection to home burglaries in the Heights and Sewickley Hills. Ohio police said Lewandowski stole jewelry and $1,000 in cash from his neighbor‘s home in Sewickley Hills. Charges have been waived against a Franklin Park couple accused of cashing stolen checks. Stephanie McNickel, 35, is charged with forgery, theft and receiving stolen property and her husband, Shawn McNickel, 34, is charged with access device fraud. Franklin Park police said Stephanie McNickel stole checks from a home and told her husband, Shawn McNickel, the checks were a blessing. Two of the checks were forged for a total of $410. Police said McNickel used his mother's bank card to cash one of the checks. He told police he was unaware the check was stolen, police said. Charges were recently waived against a Pittsburgh man who tried to attack two police officers following a drunken-driving crash, police said. Sewickley police charged Paul Curtis, 24, of Pittsburgh, with two counts of aggravated assault, careless driving and driving under the influence of alcohol. Curtis will stand trial on the charges. According to a criminal complaint, police were called to a one-vehicle crash May 11 in the Green Street municipal parking lot. Police said Curtis's female passenger complained of head, neck and knee pain and was taken by ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Curtis said he was not injured, police said. A Sewickley man accused of driving under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident waived the charges to court last week. Sewickley police said Zachary Seman, 21, of Beaver Street, struck a parked car March 7 on Walnut Street and drove away. Seman told officers he left because he didn’t have insurance. He was taken to Heritage Valley Sewickley Hospital for a blood test, police said. A separate hearing for Seman stemming from an April 13 incident is rescheduled for Tuesday. Seman is accused of endangering the welfare of children, simple assault and harassment. Police said he threw his wife down the stairs and threatened to harm her and their infant son.
