Freezing Rain, Icy Roads Predicted for Tonight

Winter weather advisory in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday.

Freezing rain this evening could result in an accumulation of up to one-tenth inch of ice, according to the National Weather Service. A winter weather advisory -- which means snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties -- remains in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday, the National Weather Service stated. It warns motorists to be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibility. Motorists can also expect areas of dense fog through this evening as moist air and light winds combine with temperatures that are near or above freezing over snow-covered ground, according to NWS. Windy conditions are expected to develop Wednesday afternoon and evening with 1 to 2 inches of snow possible, the weather service stated.
