Extras Needed For Channing Tatum, Steve Carell Movie

The scene for the upcoming movie, 'Foxcatcher,' will be filmed at the Petersen Events Center.

Here's your chance to appear on the big screen with Channing Tatum, Steve Carell and Mark Ruffalo in the upcoming movie, "Foxcatcher." A film shoot took place in Sewickley Heights in October. Now, the Fair Hill Project is looking for extras to shoot a scene on Thursday, Dec. 13, at the Petersen Event Center in Oakland. Sorry ladies, only men 18 years of age and older are needed. According to the Pittsburgh Film Office, pay is $60 to $100, depending on the number of hours worked. Meals will be provided. A word of warning: Our son was an extra in Lifeguard, which filmed in Sewickley this past summer. He worked 5-6 evenings, sometimes all night until 5am (8-10 hours at a time) and was to be paid minimum wage. To date he's received one check for about $49 which was returned due to insufficient funds. He is a college student and could have really used that money at school. Casting Call: Wrestlers Needed for Movie

The Oscar-nominated director of “Moneyball” will be at Canon-McMillan High School casting a movie about Olympic gold-medalist wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz—and real wrestlers are needed!

Are you a wrestler? Trainer? Coach? If so, the Pittsburgh Film Office has an opportunity for you this Saturday. Bennett Miller, Oscar-nominated director of “Moneyball,” is in town casting a movie about Olympic gold-medalist wrestlers Dave and Mark Schultz. To ensure an authentic depiction of the sport and community, producers want to cast as many real wrestlers, coaches, referees, trainers, scorekeepers and committee members as possible. This casting session will not just be for extras—there will be an opportunity to be upgraded to speaking roles. Film Trailer Released for Tom Cruise's 'Jack Reacher'—Originally Named 'One Shot'

This movie, starring Tom Cruise, was filmed in the Pittsburgh area—including Sewickley—last year.

The trailer for "Jack Reacher," a movie that was filmed in the Pittsburgh area—including Sewickley—over the winter, has been released.  The movie, which was named "One Shot" during filming, stars Tom Cruise, Robert Duvall and Rosamund Pike. In October, film crews and actors drew a crowd while on set at Sewickley Country in Sewickley. The movie also filmed in Dormont, Oakmont and other areas throughout the City of Pittsburgh. And speaking of films, "Lifeguard" starring Kristen Bell is currently filming in Sewickley. Saturday and Sunday, the film crew is expected to shoot night scenes near Beaver and Chestnut, according to borough officials.
