Distracted Motorist Triggers Three-Vehicle Crash in Leetsdale

The crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. on Route 65, Leetsdale police reported.

A motorist told Leetsdale police that he briefly took his eyes off the road Monday evening before his vehicle triggered a three-car crash. Police said Charles Simmons of Beaver was southbound on Route 65 when the crash happened shortly after 7 p.m. near Rapp Street. Simmons told police he took his eyes off the road only for about five seconds and looked up just in time to see his vehicle hit another car, police said. The impact forced the second car, driven by Angelica Andreoli of Pittsburgh, into a third vehicle driven by Susan Komlos of Ambridge. Andreoli told police she slowed down for Komlos, who was stopped for fourth  car that was turning left from 65.  The drivers complained of scrapes and burns, but police said none of them …

Lived in Sewickley for a year and was the worse mistake I made in life. Granted there are a lot of nice homes here stuck besides slums of homes. Neighbors who would walk their dogs over in the yard I was renting to do their business and wouldn't clean up after them. No Injuries in Quaker Valley School Bus Crash

Sewickley police cited Kyleigh Abraham, 24, of Baden, with failing to obey traffic signals.

A car collided Monday morning with a Quaker Valley school bus carrying 20 students to Osborne Elementary School, according to Sewickley borough police. The bus driver, John Dobrzanski, told police he was traveling south at 7:50 a.m. on Beaver Street and had the green light when a Chevy Cobalt that Kyleigh Abraham, 24, of Baden, was driving went through the intersection at Broad Street and in front of the bus. Police said the mechanical arm deflector on the front of the bus struck the bumper on Abraham’s car, causing her vehicle to spin. Police said the car came to a stop in the opposite lane, facing the wrong direction. Abraham told officers she couldn’t remember what color the traffic light was, police said.
