Sewickley police said the alleged rape occurred earlier this month.
Police received a report Feb. 11 of a sexual assault involving a teen who was raped by an 18-year-old man. Police were told the alleged assault occurred Feb. 9 at a bonfire somewhere in Sewickley. The matter has been turned over to Allegheny County Police detectives. Charges have not been filed. Sewickley police also responded to the following incidents. Leetsdale police said this is David Rambo Jr.'s fourth retail theft charge.
An Ambridge man is charged with felony retail theft, accused of filling a shopping cart with flowers and attempting to take them from a local grocery store, Leetsdale police reported. David Paul Rambo Jr., 44, is also charged with public drunkenness. Police said a Giant Eagle employee confronted Rambo on May 9 after he was seen outside the store pushing a shopping cart full of flowers, attempting to walk away with them. Police said the employee was just getting off work and asked Rambo what he was doing, to which he replied that his wife was inside the store. Sewickley police said a dinner party went awry earlier this month after an argument between two women escalated into a food fight at a borough residence. Officers were dispatched April 5 to the 300 block of McCready Way after the host of the dinner party became alarmed. Police said the resident reported to officers that two female guests he invited over for dinner and cocktails began to argue and at one point the argument escalated into a food fight. The resident told police he felt the argument became too violent so he called authorities. When police arrived, one of the women had already left, police said. Sewickley police cited a man Friday with public drunkenness after he was found sleeping on a bench at Beaver and Broad streets. Police woke up Drayton Hammond, 49, of McKees Rocks, who had difficulty speaking and appeared to be intoxicated, police said. Officers found an empty pint of vodka in his back pocket. He was evaluated by medics before being taken to the Coraopolis Police Department’s lock up. Hours before, police stopped Kevin Loy, 48, of Coraopolis, walking on the Sewickley Bridge toward Route 65. Police said Loy was fumbling, unsteady and appeared to be highly intoxicated. Sewickley police cited a tree company after its GMC truck was spotted hauling a large load of unsecured logs in the borough, police reported. Police said the driver, Joseph Bianco, 28, of Pittsburgh, was hauling logs at least 6-feet long on the truck Friday when police stopped the vehicle at Beaver and Logan streets in Sewickley. Police said Bianco, a driver for Down and Out Tree & Stump Service, based in Pittsburgh, thought another worker had secured the load, but police said the logs were not tied down. Police cited the company for having an unsecured load and placed the truck out of service until the logs could be secured using a minimum of three chains, police said. Two Sewickley residents suffered injuries in two early morning falls on New Year’s Day and were transported to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Police said Garin L. Lee, 48, of Centennial Avenue, suffered head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the hospital’s head trauma unit. Daniel Bollman, 45, of Ohio River Boulevard, suffered a head wound and was transported in a separate ambulance. Police arrived at 1:11 a.m. Jan. 1 to the area of Centennial and Murrary Street to find Lee lying on the ground and bleeding profusely. Valley Ambulance stabilized her wound. A Sewickley man is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Friday on charges of assault and public drunkenness after failing a field sobriety test, kicking out the back window of a police car, and kicking two police officers as they removed him from the vehicle, according to a Northern Regional Police Department report. A Beaver Falls man is facing charges after police said he stole a trumpet then showed up drunk at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting. Richard W. Heffner, 32, of Beaver Falls, is charged with theft, receiving stolen property, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Sewickley Police were called shortly after 8:30 p.m. Feb. 3 to St. James School, 201 Broad St., for a report of two men, possibly intoxicated, in the school parking lot, police reported.
