Sewickley Police Issue Citations for Retail Theft

Three people are cited in less than a week.

Sewickley police have been cracking down on retail thefts from Rite Aid.  Police said an officer in plain clothes saw a woman take two items totaling $8 from the cosmetics section on Feb. 20. Police cited Amanda Phillips of McDonald Street with taking a hair coloring stick and a lash kit. On Feb. 21, a manager saw a woman remove a calculator notebook worth $8.50 from its wrapper and walk out of the store with it. Police said Emily Lowen of Hazel Lane was located at the library with the new calculator. She was cited with retail theft. On Feb. 24, police said an officer cited Robert Supra of Thorn Street after he was seen pocketing two candy bars worth $3. Police: Man Attempts to Steal Shopping Cart Full of Flowers

Leetsdale police said this is David Rambo Jr.'s fourth retail theft charge.

An Ambridge man is charged with felony retail theft, accused of filling a shopping cart with flowers and attempting to take them from a local grocery store, Leetsdale police reported. David Paul Rambo Jr., 44, is also charged with public drunkenness. Police said a Giant Eagle employee confronted Rambo on May 9 after he was seen outside the store pushing a shopping cart full of flowers, attempting to walk away with them. Police said the employee was just getting off work and asked Rambo what he was doing, to which he replied that his wife was inside the store. When the employee asked Rambo if he paid for the flowers, police said he took them back to the store. Police said Rambo got into a car parked outside the Giant Eagle. Police found the…
