Seneca Valley Hires Sewickley Resident as New Acting Assistant Principal

A first-grade teacher, Christin Jamery has been with the district since 2007.

Another familiar face is taking over an administrative position within the Seneca Valley School District. On Jan. 14, the school board approved hiring teacher Christin Jamery, a Sewickley resident, as acting assistant principal for the Rowan and Connoquenessing Valley elementary schools. She replaces Nannette Farmar, who was promoted to acting principal of Rowan after Dr. John Giancola left the position in December to take a job as an English as a Second Language supervisor with the Allegheny Intermediate Unit. Monday marked Jamery’s first day in her new role. Jamery has worked in the Seneca Valley School District since 2007, first as a kindergarten teacher at Evans City Elementary and most recently as a first grade teacher at Rowan. She …

Nearby: Cranberry Natives Ready to Play Each Other in NFL

Cranberry natives (and best friends) Brandon Fusco and Don Barclay will be on opposite sides of the field when the Green Bay Packers take on the rival Minnesota Vikings.

For the second time in a month, two graduates of Seneca Valley High School will play against each other in one of the NFL’s biggest rivalries. Brandon Fusco, a 2005 graduate, and Don Barclay, a 2006 graduate, both are starting offensive linemen in the NFL. On Dec. 30, the Cranberry Township natives will play on opposite sides of the field when the Green Bay Packers take on the Minnesota Vikings. Fusco and Barclay didn’t just go to the same high school together. They were best friends and grew up just five houses apart from each other in Cranberry. After their high school graduation, Barclay went on to play for West Virginia University. Fusco played center at Slippery Rock University. Fusco made his first career start during the first game …
