Nearby: Imperial Man Shot to Death in North Fayette Bar

An Imperial man is suspected in an early morning homicide on Steubenville Pike.

A man enraged by a text message opened fire early this morning inside the Fort Pitt Inn on Steubenville Pike, injuring three and killing one, according to police David Mazzocco, 25, of Imperial, is suspected in the shooting, Allegheny County Police said. Mazzocco opened fire in the bar just before 1 a.m., as about nine people drank inside the establishment.  Police believe the man became angry while reading text messages on his phone, then left the bar, returning with three weapons, including a rifle. He then ordered two people to leave the bar, and opened fire on the remaining patrons, police said.  It is not known whether the shooting was planned. 'Fresh Prince of Bel Air' Song Causes Lockdown at Nearby Ambridge High School

Police respond after a Sewickley receptionist misinterprets lyrics from the sitcom's theme song in a student's cell phone message.

A Sewickley receptionist misinterpreted an Ambridge High School student's cell phone greeting from the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air sitcom, which led to a 20-minute school lockdown on Thursday, according to the Beaver County Times. Ambridge police said Thursday night that the incident was just a big misunderstanding. The Times reports that a receptionist from a Sewickley eye doctor's office called 19-year-old Travis Clawson of Economy to remind him about an upcoming appointment and misinterpreted his voice mail greeting as a threat about "shooting people outside of the school."  The line from the 1990s Will Smith show's theme song refers to "shooting some b-ball outside of the school." Sewickley Police Respond to Ambridge Home Invasion, Shooting

A Sewickley patrolman assists Ambridge officers in the search for suspects who shot and wounded a man on Christmas Eve.

A Sewickley patrolman assisted at the scene of a Christmas Eve shooting in Ambridge in which a man was shot in the abdomen. Patrolman Thomas Cross was among those who responded to a call at 7:48 p.m. Monday as police investigated a home invasion and shooting at 115 Park Road. Ambridge police requested that all available officers in the area set up a perimeter to be on the lookout for three men armed with semi-automatic handguns. The officers assisted but did not locate those men, according to a Sewickley police report. According to KDKA-TV, police found and confiscated drugs and weapons inside the house. Shooting Victim Worked at Western Psych

Five people injured in the attack treated at UPMC Presbyterian; two others treated and released.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported this morning that one man who died in a mass shooting at Western Psych Thursday is from Edgewood. "Michael Schaab, 25, of Edgewood, was pronounced dead at the clinic at 3 p.m., about 80 minutes after the shootings occurred," the report states. According to local obituaries, Schaab's sister, Nancy, died in October 2010 at the age of 26. Their parents are listed as Harry and Mary Schaab of Greensburg. The couple owns the Old Route 66 Grille in Greensburg. Mary Schaab spoke with the Associated Press and said their daughter was tragically killed in a domestic dispute. Two Dead, Seven Injured in Western Psych Shooting

One of the people confirmed dead is the shooter.

Two people are dead and seven people are wounded after a shooting inside Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic of UPMC shortly before 2 p.m. Thursday. One of the two people confirmed dead is the shooter, according to the official UPMC media relations Twitter account. The seven people wounded are being treated at UPMC Presbyterian, which is across the street from Western Psych. The Post-Gazette reportedcthat people were evacuated from Western Psych after being on lockdown. KDKA-TV reported officers were checking each room to make sure the building was safe. The police have set up a shooting hotline for people trying to get in touch with people inside Western Psych or for people who might have left belongings behind in the building. The …
