Police said they have leads and are reviewing surveillance video of the brazen Ross Park Mall theft.
Ross Township police are looking for five people suspected of walking into the Louis Vuitton Store in Ross Park Mall about 8 p.m. Thursday and walking out with an undetermined number of handbags. Store officials were conducting an inventory Friday morning to determine the extent of the loss. The designer handbags aren't cheap, with some costing more than $1,000 each. "Based on surveillance video it does appear that these five individuals were working together," said Ross Police Detective Brian Kohlhepp. "The store was open at the time and employees did attempt to confront the actors when they fled the store. No one was injured and no customers were ever in danger." Kohlhepp said the group left the mall in a car, but there is not a good …

Police said the juveniles were released to their parents.
A group of teens attempted to steal signs Sunday afternoon from the magistrate district judge's yard, but they didn’t get far. Leetsdale police Patrolman William Dreyer said homeowner District Judge Robert Ford caught the four juveniles around 1:30 p.m. holding two signs from his front yard in the 700 block of Beaver Street. Dreyer said Ford called police and confronted the teens, two males and two females, who stuck around and waited for police to arrive. Two of the juveniles were from Ambridge, one from Leetsdale and one from Bell Acres, Dreyer said. He said the juveniles claimed they planned to stand on the corner and hold the signs up to traffic. Sewickley police said the 40-year-old woman is facing several counts, including theft and receiving stolen property.
An Aliquippa woman is facing numerous charges accused of scamming cash from several Sewickley businesses. Sewickley police have charged Sharon Lepore, 40, with three counts each of theft and receiving stolen property, two counts of criminal attempt and one count of conspiracy. Police said Lepore admitted to scamming businesses first to support a drug habit, but then as a way to get fast money. Police said Lepore's mode of operation was to take an item off a store shelf, pretend she overpaid for it and demand a refund, all without producing a receipt. Janet Daugherty, owner of Tapas, reported to police that Lepore came into her business twice, once on July 21 when she claimed her husband had purchased two bottles of linen wash but was …

Kate Spiker, 38, of Sharpsburg, was seen snatching high-end purses inside Nordstrom, according to police. Her daughter was outside, behind the wheel of a rented pick-up truck, waiting while her mother made several trips in and out of various shops with the loot. “They took nearly $5,000 worth of merchandise,” said Ross Twp. Police Sgt. Ben Dripps. “High end merchandise such as purses, nightwear, lingerie, all stuff women would love. It was not your typical back to school shopping trip.” The plot began to unravel when a mall security guard asked the girl to …
