Triumph Baptist Honors Sewickley's Police and Firefighters
Recognizing the church's salute to first responders, Thursday was also declared Triumph Baptist Church Appreciation Day.
The Rev. Robert Johnson, a former investigator, police and security officer, said he understands the close bond firefighters and police officers share. He can also attest to the tragedies of life they often encounter together. “One thing I can attest to is that, as first responders, you’re exposed to the most disgusting, foul, putrid, negative side of life everyday,” said Johnson, who retired six days ago after 35 years in the public safety field. Johnson offered words of wisdom as part of a salute Thursday at Triumph Baptist Church to Sewickley's police and firefighters.
