Sewickley Chocolate Walk Coming Just in Time for Valentine's Day

Sample chocolates while visiting businesses during this sweet event. Tickets are on sale now.

Satisfy your sweet tooth in Sewickley this Valentine's Day. Tickets are being sold now for the inaugural Sewickley Chocolate Walk, which takes place on Wednesday, Feb. 13.   Alex DeLoia of Village Green Partners said the Chocolate Walk runs from 5 to 7 p.m. as part of continuing efforts to promote later shopping hours on Wednesdays in Sewickley. "Chocolate Walk will be a fun, family-friendly event the evening before Valentine's Day, where people can sample all kinds of unique chocolates while visiting the businesses in the Village," she said. Everything You Need to Know About Sewickley's Memorial Day Celebration

The 121st annual parade will be followed by a program at Wolcott Park and a service at the Sewickley Cemetery.

Sewickley's 121st annual Memorial Day parade begins at 10 a.m. today. The parade route starts at Frederick Avenue and Broad Street, continues onto Thorn Street, to Grant Street and onto Beaver Street before ending at Thorn and Chestnut streets. Roads on the parade route will be closed approximately one hour before the parade begins. No parking will be permitted on streets along the parade route from 6 a.m. to noon today to accomodate the parade. Port Authority buses will be detoured during the parade. Parade participants include local police and firefighters, politicians, veterans groups, scouting troops, and the Quaker Valley High School marching band. Sewickley Veterans Retire 'Old Glory' in Flag Ceremony

The flag retirement ceremony of old, tattered flags took place Friday in Wolcott Park as part of Sewickley's four-day tribute.

Sewickley's annual Flag Retirement Ceremony Friday evening was the start of a four-day tribute observiong Memorial Day weekend in the borough.  This year's ceremony took place in Wolcott Park and included veteran participation from Sewickley's American Legion Post 4, American Legion Post 450, the VFW Post 5756. The local Glen Oaks Girl Scouts also joined in the flag ceremony as did the local Boy Scouts. The night went forward with patriotic music and a freworks display.  The 121st  annual Memorial Day Celebration continues today at 10:30 a.m. with a memorial service aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Osage. Sewickley's First Soup Crawl Brings Signature Tastings on St. Patrick's Day

The crawl takes place Saturday, March 17, from noon to 3 p.m.

Whether it's a creamy bisque, a light lentil, or a hearty minestrone, everyone loves a great soup.  So what better way to celebrate one of the greatest comfort foods than by sipping and slurping several variations of culinary concoctions all in one day? The inaugural Sewickley Soup Crawl on Saturday, March 17, promises to bring ladles of soups for area foodies to taste and savor in the village of Sewickley.
