Police said the injured 26-year-old was shot in the back.
Sewickley police were summoned early Sunday morning to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital after being alerted to a gunshot wound victim who had arrived in the emergency room. Police responded at 2:42 a.m. and spoke to Tywan Willis, 26, of Aliquippa, who told officers he was shot in the back near the Quippian bar in Aliquippa. Sewickley officers forwarded information onto the Aliquippa police department in Beaver County. Willis was stabilized and transported by Valley Ambulance to Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. The three-day event is being presented by the Daniel B. Matthews Historical Society along with the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial of Greater Pittsburgh, both based in Sewickley.
A free family-friendly celebration featuring a commemorative Air Force and Red Tail Squadron’s traveling exhibit is making a stop today through Sunday, June 3 at the Allegheny County Airport in West Mifflin. The "Rise Above" stop is part of the Tuskegee Airmen’s 70th anniversary and the three-day event is being presented by the Daniel B. Matthews Historical Society along with the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial of Greater Pittsburgh, both based in Sewickley. The Beaver County dairy suspends production; customers and stores warned to discard milk.
The Pennsylvania Agriculture Department and Department of Health is advising consumers and retailers who purchased milk from Brunton Dairy to immediately discard all milk with a sell-by date of Oct. 25 or later. As part of ongoing oversight testing of milk samples at the dairy, the Department of Agriculture confirmed a positive test result for Yersinia bacteria from pasteurized, homogenized fat-free milk in a gallon glass bottle with a sell-by date of Oct. 25. Milk production at the more than 175-year-old dairy in Independence Township, Beaver County, has been suspended until additional testing is completed.
