Eat’n Park Celebrates Start of Hockey Season with Free Smiley Cookies

Anyone wearing Pittsburgh Penguins gear will receive a free cookie.

Eat’n Park is giving guests something to smile about Wednesday—especially if they’re wearing Pittsburgh Penguins gear. To celebrate the delayed start of the National Hockey League season, Eat’n Park is giving away free Smiley Cookies to anyone wearing Pens attire to the restaurants on Wednesday, Jan. 23. Wednesday also is the first home game of the season for the 2-0 Pens. To qualify for the free black and gold Smiley Cookie, made especially for the 2013 hockey season, any form of Penguins attire is acceptable. The Smiley Cookie promotion lasts all day on Wednesday at all area Eat’n Park locations, including the location on Ohio River Boulevard in Edgeworth, University Boulevard in Moon Township and on Brandt School Road in Franklin Park. …

Here We Go! Rally for the Steelers Friday in Downtown Pittsburgh

The rally will start at noon in the courtyard of the Allegheny County Courthouse.

To support the Pittsburgh Steelers as they head into the their wild-card playoff game Sunday against the Denver Broncos, Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl plan to have a “Break the Broncos Rally” at noon Friday in the courtyard of the Allegheny County Courthouse, Downtown.  Fitzgerald and Ravenstahl have declared Friday to be "Black & Gold Day" and are asking rally participants to bring black-and-gold decorations and Steelers paraphernalia to decorate a 20-foot "Terrible Tree." They're also asking for bring non-perishable canned goods or make a cash donation to support the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Black-and-Gold Fever

Sewickley businesses offer plenty of ways to show your support for the Black and Gold.

Black and Gold is painting the town. Everyone in Sewickley has football fever. Even fair weather fans are in the spirit. Yes, the natives are getting restless as the AFC Champions head to Super Bowl XLV on Feb. 6. In the meantime, plenty of local businesses are exuding Pittsburgh Steelers pride.
