Robert "Rob" Karasek Jr.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Copeland Funeral Home, 702 Beaver St., Sewickley.

Robert "Rob" Karasek Jr., 43, passed away suddenly Nov. 18, 2012 at his Sewickley residence. Born in Pittsburgh Nov. 4, 1969 to Robert and Lil Faytik Karasek Sr. of Sewickley, Rob was employed by Lane Steel and a 1987 graduate of Linsley High School in West Virginia. He was was also a proud member for 20 years with the Cochran Hose Fire Co. in Sewickley. Besides his parents, Rob is survived by his wife Bryony O'Connor Karasek and his three children; Connor Craig, Eleanor Rose and Megan Lily Karasek all of England.  Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, when a Blessing Service will be held at 2 p.m. in the Copeland Sewickley Funeral Home, 702 Beaver St. followed by interment in Sewickley Cemetery. …

Tess Senay Raynovich

Tess Senay Raynovich, age 20, of Sewickley, died tragically on Sunday morning, October 28, 2012 in a car accident as she was driving to work. Tess was full of life and love, and she filled the world with art and beauty. She is missed by her parents, Nancy Kirkwood Raynovich and Andy Raynovich and her two sisters Anna Raynovich and Mia Raynovich, her grandparents, Mary Ann and George Raynovich and Joan and Bob Newman, as well as many, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. George Gilchrist French, 75, of Glen Allen, VA, formerly of Sewickley, died Saturday, Oct. 20 in Richmond, VA. French was employed for more than 30 years in corporate and marketing communications capacities for Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania, retiring in 1996 shortly after its merger with Pennsylvania Blue Shield to form Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield. Previously, he worked as a reporter for The Homestead Messenger and The Pittsburg Press. French graduated from Pennsylvania State University in 1960 and was active in local Penn State alumni affairs, serving as president of The Penn State Club of Allegheny County in 1975. Edward Payson Hawes

Edward Payson Hawes, born April 13, 1921, died October 15, 2012, of heart failure. He graduated from Moon High School in 1939, and attended the University of Pittsburgh for three years, served honorably as a Master Sgt. in the Signal Corps in Oahu, HA, for four years, graduated from Westminster College with a BA degree in 1947 majoring in math and psychology. He received a National Science Foundation Grant to attend Boston College and earned 24 extra credits in mathematics. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1956 with a Master of Education degree. Mr. Hawes took over tutoring for his Father, Edward Prince Hawes, in the Carnot Country Day School, and changed the title to the Sewickley School of Tutoring in 1958. He also …

Charles Edward Hannigan passed away peacefully at home the morning of October 15, 2012. He was 83. Chuck is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years Mildred Erna Hannigan and his loving family, daughter Kathleen Ann Hannigan, Grandsons Wayne Charles and Mack Edwards Hannigan, Granddaughter Lacy Briar Hannigan and her Fiance Greg Gerstner. Jacqueline “Jackie” (Nauman) Hanchulak, age 60, a Sewickley resident since 1975, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away at Heritage Valley Sewickley on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012. She was born in Pittsburgh on Dec. 21, 1951. Beloved wife for 39 years to James J. Louise B. Cook, 96, resident of the Masonic Village of Sewickley PA, concluded her life on Sept. 22, 2012 after an extended illness. Her beloved husband of 22 years, Thomas B. Cook of GreenTree, PA, died in 1985. She is survived by her sons, Wayne Cook (Weatherford,TX) and Herb McVay (Ocean City, NJ), her daughter Karen McVay Monito (Adams Twp., Butler Co. PA), and two sisters, Helen McEntire and Peggy Kelley. Also surviving are many cherished grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
