Sewickley Heights Couple Awaits Sentencing in Federal Court

The couple pleads guilty to fraud related to mortgage applications for Florida condo.

Sentencing is scheduled in May for a Sewickley Heights couple charged with bankruptcy fraud conspiracy, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Pittsburgh. Beth B. Baker, 62, of Cardinal Lane, pleaded guilty on Friday in U.S. District Court, exactly a week after her husband, David F. Baker III, 63 also pleaded guilty to a single charge in federal court.   A grand jury returned a seven-count indictment in December 2011 that named the couple in conspiring to defraud J.P. Morgan and Washington Mutual Bank on mortgage applications in 2005 and 2007 for a $2.5 million condominium in Sarasota, Florida. Sewickley Heights Man Pleads Guilty to Bankruptcy Fraud

David Baker III conspired to defraud banks on a $2.5 million condominium in Florida, according to the U.S. District attorney's office.

A Sewickley Heights man pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to a charge of bankruptcy fraud conspiracy, according to the U.S. attorney's office in Pittsburgh. David F. Baker III, 62, of Cardinal Lane, Sewickley Heights, pleaded guilty to one count before United States District Judge Joy Flowers Conti. According to authorities, Baker conspired to defraud J.P. Morgan and Washington Mutual Bank in mortgage applications in 2005 and 2007 on a $2.5 million condominium in Sarasota, FL.  Baker's sentencing is scheduled for May 17. He faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000 or both. Assistant United States Attorney Gregory C.
