Sewickley Heights Approves Guide Rail Project, Roof Replacement
Work should begin sometime between late summer and early fall.
Pony Hollow Road is slated to get a guiderail makeover in Sewickley Heights. Sewickley Heights Council recently approved a $4,619 contract with Ward Building and Highway Specialties of McKeesport to replace 660 feet of the old post and cable guide rail. The borough budgeted $8,000 for new guide rail on Pony Hollow and Ward was the lowest of four bids opened during Monday's meeting. Sewickley Heights Manager William Rohe said the old material will be replaced with the same guide rail typically seen along highways today. Over the past two years, the borough has worked to replace guiderail on the north end of Backbone Road from Little Sewickley Creek Road to the Bell Acres borough line.
