After breaking ground in October 2011, Esmark executives and staff spent this week moving into the company’s newly-built global headquarters. Esmark CEO Jim Bouchard expects to relocate more than two-dozen corporate staff members onto the third floor of the 40,000-square-foot building on Hazel Lane in Edgeworth. Bill Keegan, Esmark spokesman, said the first day of business in the new digs will be Monday, March 4. In addition to Esmark, the building will house tenants TF Asset Management and OneSource on the third floor. OneSource is moving in this week, with plans to begin its first day of business on Monday, too. TF Asset Management will move in about a month from now, Keegan said. Nearly nine months before its scheduled completion, space in the $9-million, 40,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art Esmark global headquarters building has now been fully committed, according to a news release. Heritage Valley Health System, a frequent partner in a variety of community activities with Esmark, plans to establish a medical mall that will be called “Heritage Valley Edgeworth” at the Esmark building in Edgeworth. Early detection is key, according to local health experts.
Men and women need to take an active role in detecting and preventing breast cancer, according to two area health experts. In honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, Patch caught up with Beverly A. Feragotti, manager of Women’s Health Services and Wound Care at UPMC Heritage Valley, and Dr. Mark Schnurer, a radiologist with the organization, to find out more about breast cancer treatment and prevention. The Women’s Health Services at Heritage Valley Health System performed 31,419 breast procedures systemwide in 2009, the most recent year for which statistics are available.
