Giant Eagle Slashing Prices on 3,000 Items

Some of the reductions went into effect on Wednesday.

Giant Eagle said Wednesday its delivering more than $70 million in annual customer savings by lowering prices on more than 3,000 grocery items about 15 percent, according to WPXI. The majority of lower everyday prices went in effect Wednesday, with the remaining reductions taking place by April 11. The lowered everyday prices are on a variety of national and Giant Eagle brand dairy, frozen food and processed meat products, as well as grocery items such as cereal, yogurt, condiments, pastas, boxed dinners, canned vegetables, and paper and laundry products. Some of the items include Cheerios, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise, Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, Cool Whip, and more, according to KDKA. Pine Market District to Add Curbside Express Service for Customers

Customers can order groceries online and pick them up at the curb.

Imagine pulling up to the curb in front of Pine Market District and having your groceries loaded into your car—even though you never set foot in the Wexford store to actually shop for them. All a customer has to do is order groceries online at MarketDistrict.com/Curbside and then pick them up at the front of the store at pre-determined time and date. The service was launched at the Robinson Market District in April 2012, and Robinson Township store team members have processed hundreds of orders to date.  Market District team members act as personal shoppers and select the items on the grocery list and bring them to the store’s dedicated outside Curbside Express Pick-Up vehicle lane on the selected date and time.  Customers are able to pay …

Winning Million-Dollar Lottery Ticket Sold at Market District in Wexford

Retailers in Fayette, Luzerne and Wayne counties also sold $1 million top-prize winning tickets.

Are you holding a winning ticket? The Market District in Pine Township sold one of four $1 million top-prize winning tickets from Saturday's Millionaire Raffle drawing, according to Pennsylvania Lottery news release. Pennsylvania Lottery retailers in Fayette, Luzerne and Wayne counties also sold $1 million top-prize winning tickets. The tickets were sold at the following locations:  Each store will receive a $5,000 selling bonus from the Pennsylvania Lottery.  "Lottery officials cannot confirm the identities of the winners until the prizes are claimed and the tickets are validated," the news release said. Food Network's Mario Batali will host a Mother’s Day Ladies Day Out culinary adventure at noon Saturday at the Pine Market District. His appearance will feature cooking demonstrations, recipes and sampling from his simple Italian food cookbooks. The Pine Market District is located at 155 Towne Centre Drive, which is in the Village at Pine shopping center on Route 19 in Wexford (Pine Township.) Giant Eagle Market District Introduces Personal Shopping Service

The Robinson Township supermarket will use personal shoppers to select items for customers.

Giant Eagle Market District in Robinson Township this week launched a new personal shopping service.  The curbside express service enables customers to order groceries online at MarketDistrict.com/Curbside and then pick up their items in front of the store.  Market District staff members will select items from each customer's list. The items are available for pick-up in a new curbside lane for motorists in the front of the store.  Items are available for the same price as on store shelves; the fee for the service is $4.95, which is waived for a customer's first order.  The service is now available on the store's website, which enables customers to search by food item, brand and price.  Visit Giant Eagle's website for more information.

Giant Eagle Job Openings at Pine Market District

The store is hosting two job fairs in April.

Giant Eagle is looking for a few good men and women -- actually, more than a few -- for its Pine Market District. The grocer has scheduled two job fairs in April to fill approximately 50 positions.  The positions include culinary/food preparation, managers, grocery services, meat cutters, deli, and clerk/cashiers. “Customer demand is such that we’ve had to expand our employment opportunities,” said Giant Eagle spokesman Victor Kimmel.  Both job fairs will be held at the Market District store in the Village of Pine near the intersection of Route 19/Perry Highway and Route 910.
