Quaker Valley Boys Soccer Wins WPIAL Championship

The boys team defeats Mars, 2-1, in the WPIAL Class AA match Saturday.

The  Quaker Valley boys' soccer team defeated Mars in overtime Saturday to clinch the WPIAL Class AA crown. According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, the boys scored with 4.2 seconds left in the second overtime to defeat Mars, 2-1 at Chartiers Valley High School. With time ticking down, the No. 4 seed Quakers made one last rush down the field and moved the ball into the box, the Post-Gazette reported. Adam Richert controlled the ball and lobbed a shot from about 12 yards away into the goal to avoid moving to a shootout. Congratulations Quakers!  Did you attend the game? Poll: What Impresses You More—Landing on the Moon or Mars?

The accomplishments are mind-boggling, and memories of the moon launch flood back after the death of Neil Armstrong.

NASA will hold a televised news conference Monday at its Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, CA, about the activities of its Curiosity rover mission on Mars. New images and an update of the rover's progress will be part of the 5 p.m. ET news conference that will be broadcast live on NASA TV and online. In all honesty, did you ever think you would see Mars so clearly?  Back in 1969, plenty of people did not think we would see the moon, much less step on it. Plenty of them were reminiscing about their memories of the event following the death Saturday of astronaut Neil Armstrong, the man who took that first step onto the lunar surface. Quaker Valley Wins Class A Penguins Cup

Quaker Valley claims the Penguin Cup championship and ends a 10-game losing streak to Mars with their 4-2 win Saturday at CONSOL Energy Center. QV advances to the state championship game at 3 p.m. Sunday at RMU Island Sports Center.

AG Charges Adams Man with Using Fake Facebook Profile to Lure Girls

William Ainsworth is arrested and charged in multiple cases after traveling to the home of a 14-year-old Butler County girl for sex.

An Adams Township man who pretended to be two different surfers from Florida is charged with using Facebook to entice young girls to send him explicit photos and arrange meetings for sex, state Attorney General Linda Kelly said today. William R. Ainsworth, 53, of Raupp Lane, is charged with 68 felony counts, including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, criminal attempted unlawful contact with a minor, criminal solicitation to commit unlawful contact with a minor, possession of child pornography and criminal use of a communications facility.
