Route 65 Paving Continues Wednesday in Sewickley

Traffic will be reduced to one alternating lane.

Overnight work is set to continue on Route 65 beginning Wednesday, Sept. 26 in Sewickley, according to PennDOT. This will require traffic to be reduced to one alternating lane overnight. Due to the narrow width of Route 65 in this area and the need to use dual paving machines to complete the work, only one of four lanes will remain open between Chestnut Street and Hazel Lane. Single-lane alternating traffic will occur from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Saturday night, Sept. 29. From Monday, Oct. 1 through Friday, Oct. 5 crews will have one lane open in each direction while other work is completed in this area including sawing and sealing, pavement markings and other minor improvements.    PennDOT advises drivers to allow extra time and be …

Long-Term Restrictions Begin Monday on Route 65 in Ambridge

Single lane traffic in the area of the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge is expected to last in both directions through late July.

Single-lane traffic on Route 65 in the area under the Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge will begin on Monday, March 12, according to PennDOT. From 9 a.m. Monday through late July, crews will be installing supports and conducting pier repairs on the bridge above Route 65.  Single-lane traffic will occur in each direction, PennDOT said.    The nearby Ambridge-Aliquippa Bridge closed Saturday for a $16.6 million project to repair the 10-span structure. The bridge is expected to reopen in mid-November, while the overall project will conclude in late 2013. Traffic meanwhile is being detoured to the Sewickley Bridge.

Expect Single-Lane Closures Next Week on Route 65

PennDOT plans to clean and inspect bridges in the area of I-79 interchange in Glenfield.

PennDOT is planning five days of single-lane closures on Route 65 in the area of the Interstate 79 interchange in Glenfield, according to a news release. From Oct. 3 to Oct. 7, crews will be cleaning and inspecting the I-79 bridges over Route 65. Lane closures will occur on Route 65 in the bridge area as needed from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Both directions will not be restricted simultaneously and all ramps will remain open. I-79 will not be affected. Crews from Michael Facchiano Contracting Inc. of Pittsburgh will perform the work.
