Fern Hollow Nature Center's fundraiser sale is 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, with donations accepted until 5 p.m. today.
One man’s trash can be another man’s treasure, but in the case of Saturday’s Treasure Sale at the Fern Hollow Nature Center, shoppers will find more jewels than junk. Sam Capezzuto, director of the nature center, said this is the second year they’re having the fundraiser. Proceeds from the sale will go toward educational programs at the Sewickley Heights center. The center’s largest fundraiser is the annual Fall Music Festival, and the 10th annual event will be Sept. 17, but the treasure sale definitely helps. “We did it last year, and it was a phenomenal fundraiser for us,” Capezzuto said. “It exceeded our expectations by four times.” Saturday’s Treasure Sale is from 8 a.m. to noon.
