Unfortunately, deep embarrassment is rarely enough to combat the lure of substance abuse. To allow him to avoid the consequences would be to enable him in his disease. I would hope a full treatment program and ongoing proof of sobriety would be required before he is allowed back in the classroom.

Well Well. There were tons of commenters, including Stefanacci himself, screaming at the people asking about DUI, saying they were horrible people for even considering such a thing. I'm sure there will be apologies forthcoming now, right? Yeah right.
Considering his past record, I certainly don't want this person teaching my child.

I feel pity for Mr. Ansell; to live your life wrapped up in rage is simply pathetic. Perhaps he will one day realize that he is punishing himself more than he is punishing his neighbors.
Regardless, as soon as he began his tantrum he instantly became the bigger jerk. If someone cuts you off in traffic, they are a jerk. if you follow them and get out of your car and beat on them with a baseball bat then you instantly are the bigger jerk. The same applies here.
