1. Sewickley Valley Chamber Speaker Series
Nancy Stampahar will discuss how to “Re-ignite your Business…and Yourself,” as part of the Sewickley Valley Chamber of Commerce's speaker series. Registration opens at 8:45 a.m. and the presentation is from 9 to 9:45 a.m. at Penguin Bookshop, 420 Beaver St. Open to local merchants, business owners, and other interested individuals. Cost is $20 and includes a continental breakfast.
2. Summertime Salads
Learn a variety of different recipes that can be made for summer parties, picnics or a quick lunch and dinner 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 16 at Sweetwater Center for the Arts. Chef Nick will introduce students to a pina colada fruit salad, cucumber salad, chicken salad, seafood salad and several more. Materials fee is included in the tuition. Member tuition: $50, Non-member tuition: $65. Ages 21 and up.3. Summer Math Tutoring
Do you know a student in grades 6 to 12 who needs to get prepped for the next school year? Brush up on your skills in pre-algebra, algebra I & II, geometry, and FST for free. Tutoring with the Sewickley Public Library's youth math tutors runs 4 to 6 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays through July and August (until the start of the school year). 4. Lunchtime Concert
Enjoy a lunchtime concert and the sounds of Steven Vance & John Garrick, strolling violins, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Robin Hill Park in Moon Township.

5. Fishing at Soggy Bottom
Join a family fishing program from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 20 at a private lake in Sewickley stocked with blue gills, bass, carp and sun fish. Fern Hollow Nature Center will provide all the equipment and bait through a state grant. The program starts at Fern Hollow and everyone carpools to Soggy Bottom Lake. Cost is $10 per member fisherman and free for accompanying adult and $15 for non-members and $5 for accompanying adult. Registration required. Space is limited. Call 412-741-6136 or info@fhnc.org
